grandparents & dancing

I still have a hard time believing that my baby is no longer my baby, and that he is in preschool. Everything about this school is amazing which has helped me out with not having him home with me! The teachers really work on the kids one on one and it is structured like a regular elementary school. They work on all of the kids motor skills, communication and problem solving. I am not bragging on this school because my mother in law owns it.... I am bragging on it because the passion that these teachers have for these students is incredible! Caleb's teacher has a masters degree in education and could teach anywhere. I am so thankful that she is with Caleb and helping him grow!

The school hosted a little event for the grandparents. It was so sweet, they had bookmakers made for them, snacks and hats. The only grandparent that couldn't make it was my dad (golf tournament), we face timed him so he could see what was going on.

The kids had been practicing 3 songs to preform for everyone. Caleb made me laugh so hard when he would scream... MOMMA!!! NANA!!!!! every time he saw us. We both had to hide behind people so that he would stop (but I thought it was the cutest thing ever).

Maternity Pictures

So better late then never... actually there are going to be a bunch of those types of posts coming in the next couple of days.

A few days before we welcomed Anna Grace into this world my sister came over to take some pictures. She did a wonderful job and I am so thankful that I have these sweet belly pictures. Aj took what seams like a million pictures, but here are just some of my favorite few!

Little gifts for a Big Brother!

While we are away from Caleb in the hospital with Anna Grace, Jeff and I put together some fun gifts. Everyday he will get a note from us with a little gift. Things that we know he will love and will make him feel special!

Day One... We bought him Frozen and his favorite yogurt melts. Caleb has only seen this movie twice but loved it and laughs whenever the snowman comes on. These yogurt melts are like candy to him. Win win!

Day Two... This kid is all about his cars, so naturally we got him some Hot Wheels.

Day Three... What kid does not love chalk and play dough.

His Big Brother gift from Anna Grace... I am not sure what day he will be coming to the hospital but when he does he is getting a fun little toy from his sister. He loves all of the little people toys so we got him the play ground set and a book about being a big brother.

I know Caleb will have a great time with whoever is going to have him, but I want to make sure it is just a little more special!

2nd Birthday Wish List

1/2/3/4/5/6/7
I can't believe my baby boy is going to be 2, and pretty soon he will no longer be the baby! For Caleb's birthday wish list this year we defiantly have an outdoor theme! He LOVES it outdoors and it is where we spend most of our day. Thanks for daddy fencing in the back yard, all of our play dates revolve around the backyard.

Even though I will have a two week old, I can't stomach the idea of not having a party for Caleb (Yes, I know he wont remember). We are not having a huge party... Just 6 of his closes friends in the backyard playing in the little pools. All of my friends know that Anna Grace will be off in another room and I do not want her passed around. For Caleb's actual birthday, Jeff is taking the day off so we can go do something fun with him. I am thinking the Florida Aquarium (it is mostly in the AC!), but Jeff wants to take him to Great Explorations. Last year was the Zoo and man it was HOT out!

Does anyone have any other good ideas on what we can do for his birthday?

Easter Basket Treats

Easter is almost here! This year I can't wait to celebrate it with Caleb and see his excitement on his face when he sees what the Easter Bunny has left for him. I started getting goodies for his basket in early February. Little things I know that he is going to love to play with.

I made his basket last year. I wanted it to be personalized but not cost me an arm and a leg to buy. Found the plastic bucket at the dollar store, had the lettering from scrapbooking, then I snazzed it up with some matching ribbon. I liked this basket so much, and knew one day that we would hopefully have more kids I bought a bucket in every color they sold. So our next kid(s) will all have matching Easter baskets from the bunny!

Caleb's Basket has...
Two Polo shirts, bubbles (target), sand toys (target), egg sidewalk chalk (dollar store), weird ball toy with eyes (target dollar bin), Annie's bunny gummies, and two books from Sandra Boynton.

I might add some yogurt melts and other goodies if I happen to see anything while I am out and about.

What is the bunny bringing your little one?

Weekend Recap

I love when weekend are full of family time, laughter and love. This weekend was just that.

Saturday morning Jeff thought it would be fun to take Caleb to the beach for his first time. Yes we live super close to the beach but we prefer the boat life and going to the sand bar. When we started getting him ready Caleb kept saying boat, boat, boat. Pointing to the back yard and trying to open the door. He was so confused to why we where getting in the car. That boy quickly became all smiles when we drove up to the beach.

The water was soooo cold and this boy had zero interest going in. However digging in the sand was a huge hit. After a quick trip we had to leave and get ready to celebrate Nana's birthday.

My sweet Momma was having a little party to celebrate her birthday. Besides the family they had their best couple friends. Daddy made dinner and I made dessert. Instead of making momma a cake I went with a strawberry pie... if I may say myself, it was darn yummy!

When the friends left we pulled out the guitars for some singing. The video of Caleb singing Sweet Carolina is precious! It melts my heart every time I watch it!

Sunday Caleb went to hang out with Grandpa and Nana, while we went on the boat with some old friends. It was so nice catching up with them. We where at the sandbar for awhile and then took the boat to I.C. Sharks for some good grub and drinks.

With all the fun we had I forgot a very important thing... SUNSCREEN! And now my poor skin is paying for it. I look ridiculous and hurt!!!!

Strawberry Picking

One of my favorite times of the year is to go strawberry picking. Last week my favorite local organic farm opened up for you pick it. So with much excitement I called my friend Nicole and we loaded up the kids to go. The drive is about 45 minutes away to Dover, which happens to be the town that Nicole grew up in. Caleb was missing his morning nap... it was touch and go if he would have a melt down.

At first he was loving it, although he doesn't like strawberries (like his daddy!) he was very helpful on the picking and putting it in the bucket.

Then out of nowhere the first melt down happened. Screaming, kicking, crawling all over the floor. After a little tap on the hand we sat in the car for a bit. He cooled his mood and we went back to picking.

I was hoping to get more berries, but with the little man's bad mood we ended our trip early. I did still end up with three large gallon jugs, for ONLY $12! Organic strawberries for $12... that is a great deal and worth my time to go pick them!

We took the kids to McDonald's for lunch, with both of them having a melt down I was done! Mentally tired and done for the day.

Processing the strawberries maybe took me a little over an hour. We have a bunch of events this month and the perfect thing for me to bring is Strawberry Pie. Placed them in separate bags for each pie.

Caleb's One!

We are going to rewind a couple of months to talk about our little man's first birthday. It was on July 20th, Caleb was surrounded with family and his closes friends. The theme of his party was planned while I was actually still pregnant. I found this fabric called Elephant Splash at Joann's, falling instantly in love with it. If we didn't have his nursery set up with the nautical theme, then this would have been it. So after talking to my momma in the store with the love I had for this pattern, she told me to buy enough fabric for his big boy room. We have a very close friend that could make his bedding for a toddler bed. So I bought it all! Then started thinking why not have more uses for this fabric... the light ball went off, his first birthday party theme could be elephants. LOVE it!

His birthday shirt was made from my new friend Leah. She is my go to girl when I need a shirt made for Caleb and her prices are so reasonable!

For his guest book we took one of his favorite books. I use to read this to him when I was pregnant, and it was the first book I ever read to him in the hospital.

My decorations where simple and just right. Most of it was scrapbook paper that matched the fabric. His favors where bubbles, only $1.00 each. We had some food for the littles and the bigs. Our apple tv sreamed photos of Caleb from his first year with everyone he loved.

The pacifier is normally only aloud in the crib, but nap time was approaching and we where willing to do anything to keep him happy.

I made him his cake. All organic, no sugar. It actually tasted pretty good. He was a little unsure of it at first but quickly got messy.

I can't believe that he is a year old. I still remember praying for him. Wanting so badly to be a momma. He is such a blessing!
